'The 2018 King William Fair Parade’ April 28th 2018

Chinatsu Oku made omikoshi with UTSA's Japanese Club and the students at San Antonio College to join 'The 2018 King William Fair Parade’, which is one of the official Fiesta events in San Antonio and has a long history of over 50 years. On Saturday, April 28th, they enjoyed the route of 2 miles marching with the hand-made omikoshi wearing happi coats and yukata under the sun. There were more than 160 groups in the parade and tens of thousands of visitors had a great time watching various entertainment at the historical district. Since the city is celebrating its 300th anniversary on May 1st, the parade was also filled with historic themes of the city's humble beginnings. Photos and a video are available below.
